Hiker who was missing for nearly a week found dead in Arizona. His dog stayed by his side, authorities say.

The remains of Donald Hayes, 74, have been found Wednesday following he went missing all over Arizona’s Mingus Mountain on Friday.

Hayes was found in a rugged region complicated to attain by searchers, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Business office said in a launch. His canine, Ranger, who was with Hayes on the hike “remained with the sufferer.”

Ranger was observed alive and lying upcoming to Hayes. The puppy was taken to an animal clinic for treatment, sheriff’s business spokesperson Kristin Greene claimed.
