Greensboro dog attack victim’s family speaks out

Trena Peed’s family reported she was caring for someone’s two dogs Thursday when they attacked and killed her at a Greensboro household.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The mother of the girl killed by two dogs at a Greensboro household Thursday mentioned she experienced considerations about the two canine prior to her demise.

“Whoever the proprietor is, they have to have to arrive forward mainly because they say they love my daughter. This is not exhibiting appreciate for her right now,” stated Helen Harris, the mom of Trena Peed. “I have an understanding of it was not intentional but I just talked to my daughter on Tuesday and I explained to her you have to have to get (those) dogs out of your household.”

Trena Peed, 46, was attacked and killed Thursday by two canines she was caring for at a Vance Avenue household in Greensboro. Police shot a person of the pet dogs, the other is in quarantine at Guilford County Animal Services. As of Friday, law enforcement have not submitted any prison expenses in the case.

Peed’s daughter Waynesha believes charges really should be submitted.

“Which is your duty,” explained Waynesha Peed. “Yeah, she was seeing them (but) that’s nonetheless your accountability.”

Harris reported Trena was always keen to assistance other folks and would give anyone the shirt of their back again. 

“It was just at the mistaken area at the improper time but she was just seeking to assist out, I guess just seeking to be welcoming,” Harris stated.

It has been tragedy following tragedy for their relatives. Harris explained she missing two grandsons, a single at 17 and the other at 19. Her spouse also handed away. Peed had eight young children full. 

“This is the worst dying I at any time experienced in my lifetime and I ain’t taking it lightly and I ain’t laying down resting due to the fact I believe any individual could’ve served my child out there,” Harris said. “For the reason that if it was her she would’ve served somebody. I think any person could’ve served my child.”

Harris mentioned she hopes the proprietor of the canines will come forward but she eventually wants peace in the problem.

“I’m not seeking to bring about no one no heartache or almost nothing like that but they say the canine (ended up) vicious, I never know. I wasn’t there, but that’s what the police said they (ended up) vicious which is why they shot him,” said Harris.

The relatives reported Peed liked to prepare dinner for some others and smile.

“She was so sweet, no subject what she was likely by way of, she would even now be smiling,” Waynesha said.
